“We focus on what is possible, and build from there.”
Supporting participants with complex mental health needs and intellectual disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and intellectual disabilities.
Staff are trained in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), crisis prevention and emotional regulation, and are registered to safely implement and report on Restrictive Practices.
“We don't just manage behaviour. We help people feel seen, heard, and safe.”
A mobile respite and emergency response team, available to travel across Australia, including to rural areas, to provide short term care and emergency support.
Whether a participant has been discharged unexpectedly from hospital or needs urgent respite care, this team steps in to stabilise the situation and build a bridge to long term solutions.
“Sometimes, care can't wait. We make sure no one is left behind.”
Supporting participants to move forward with confidence. The team facilitates community involvement, plans activities, and works closely with participants on meaningful, achievable goals.
They monitor fortnightly reports, monthly progress notes, and quarterly goal monitoring plans so support keeps evolving to meet each person's needs.
“Progress doesn't always shout. Sometimes it whispers, and we hear it.”
Staff are not just certified. Many are degree holders in fields such as Nursing, Community Services, and Social Sciences. Every branch is supported by a Registered Nurse providing expertise in medication management, clinical care and behavioural supports.
EDC partners with National Disability Services (NDS) for ongoing professional development, focused on crisis prevention, emergency response, and supporting vulnerable participants.
